Ear and Skull Base Surgery

Surgeries of the ear may include those that are done for cosmetic purposes, those that are performed for hearing loss, and those that are performed to remove a tumor or other blockage of the ear.

Skull base surgeries are generally performed to remove growths, abnormalities, cysts, or tumors from the area at the base of the skull. Skull base surgeries may include a less invasive endoscopic approach through the nose, mouth, or a small incision; or the traditional open skull approach, which may require larger incisions and removal of bone to reach the area of surgery.
