John Raines, M.D.

Our doctors

Dr. Raines is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr. Raines is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology, and is a member of the North American Skull Base Society.

A graduate of Stanford University, Dr. Raines received his Medical Degree and completed his ENT residency at the University of California School of Medicine in San Francisco. He began his ENT practice in the Valley in 1979.

Dr. Raines is an active member of the Valley’s medical community and has served on numerous boards and in many medical staff leadership positions including: President of the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Medical Staff, Member of the Board of Directors for Phoenix Children’s Hospital, Chairman of Surgery at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Member of the Surgery Committee at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center(Banner Good Sam). Dr. Raines is a founding member of the CranioFacial Team at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, and is a founding member of the Skull Base Surgery Team at the Barrow’s Neurologic Institute. He is an adjunct professor at the Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Raines is involved in residency teaching programs at Banner Good Sam and the Mayo Clinic. He has published several articles in professional literature, and has consistently been recognized by Phoenix Magazine’s “Top Docs” publication as one of the top ENT physicians in the Valley.

Dr. Raines resides in Scottsdale with his wife, Barbara. They have four children. Besides his family and friends, Dr. Raines’ interests include golf, sports of all kind, and travel.

John Milligan, M.D.

Dr. Milligan is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a member of the North American Skull Base Society.

Dr. Milligan, a graduate of Indiana University received his medical degree and completed his ENT residency training at the Indiana University Medical Center. Dr. Milligan began his practice in the Valley in 1984.

Dr. Milligan is an active member of the Valley’s medical community, serving on numerous boards and in many medical staff leadership positions, including: Chairman of Surgery at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, ENT Section Chief at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, and a member of the Surgery Committees at both Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center and Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Dr. Milligan is a founding member of the Skull Base Surgery Team at the Barrow’s Neurologic Institute.

Dr. Milligan is involved in residency teaching programs at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center, Mayo Clinic, St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center and Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Dr. Milligan resides in Phoenix with his wife, Connie. They have 3 adult children. Dr. Milligan enjoys his grandchildren, ballroom dancing, golf, tandem cycling, travel, running, and reading (especially CS Lewis).

David Simms, M.D.

Dr. Simms is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Simms graduated with an undergraduate degree in Microbiology from the University of Oklahoma. He then received his M.D. degree and completed his residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. Dr. Simms began his practice in the Valley in 1989.

Dr. Simms is an active member of the Valley’s medical community and has served on numerous medical staff committees, including Chairman of the ENT Section at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. Simms has numerous clinical publications and has been recognized by Phoenix Magazine’s “Top Docs” publication as one of the top ENT physicians in the Valley.

Dr. Simms resides in Scottsdale with his wife, Elizabeth. They have three children. Dr. Simms’ interests include: cycling, hiking, travel, and outdoor photography.

Dan Chapel, M.D.

Dr. Chapel is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. Dr. Chapel is a graduate of the University of Missouri where he received his medical degree in General Surgery. Dr. Chapel completed his ENT residency at the University of South Carolina. Dr. Chapel began his practice in the Valley in 1990.

Dr. Chapel is an active member of the Valley’s medical community and has served on numerous medical staff committees at Banner Good Samaritan Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center (St. Joe’s). Dr. Chapel is involved in the residency teaching programs at St. Joe’s.

Robert Mancuso, M.D.

Dr. Mancuso is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and is a member of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology.

Dr. Mancuso, a graduate of Williams College, received his medical degree from Rutgers Medical School and completed his ENT Residency at the University of Miami School of Medicine and the Jackson Memorial Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Mancuso completed a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at the Children’s National Medical Center/George Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Mancuso began practicing in the Valley in 2001.

Dr. Mancuso is an active member of the medical community serving on various committees at Banner Desert Samaritan Medical Center and Cardon Children’s Medical Center and is an active member of the medical staff at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Mancuso has had numerous clinical publications and appointments. Dr. Mancuso has been recognized by Phoenix Magazine as a “Top Doc”.

Janelle Engel, M.D.

Dr. Engel is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, and is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Engel is a graduate of UCLA and graduated from USC School of Medicine. Dr. Engel completed her ENT residency at the University of California in San Francisco. Dr. Engel began practicing in the Valley in 1980.

Dr. Engel is an active member of the Valley’s medical community and has served in leadership positions and on numerous medical staff committees in the East Valley.

Dr. Engel practices general otolaryngology and has been recognized by Phoenix Magazine’s “Top Docs” publication as one of the top ENT physicians in the Valley.

Dr. Engel resides in Mesa with her husband Dr. Rodney Engel, a retired pathologist, and they have two adult children. Dr. Engel’s interests include: spending time with family, reading, and travel.

Glenn Rothman, M.D.

Dr. Rothman is Board Certified by the American College of Otolaryngology, is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons, and is a member of the American Head & Neck Society.

Dr. Rothman completed his internship, residency and fellowship in head and neck surgery all at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Johns Hopkins has been recognized year after year by US News & World Report as the #1 head and neck training program in the nation. Dr. Rothman specializes in the diagnosis, surgical management, and follow-up care for head and neck tumors as well as a variety of other ear, nose, and throat problems including: head and neck cancer, thyroid surgery, parotid surgery, parathyroid surgery, and sleep apnea. Dr. Rothman began practicing in the Valley in 1995.

Dr. Rothman is an active member of the medical community and throughout his fifteen years in Arizona he has served as a physician leader at Banner Desert Medical Center, including Chairman of the Surgery Department for six years. Dr. Rothman has had numerous clinical publications, and has consistently been recognized by Phoenix Magazine's "Top Doc's" publications as one of the top ENT/Head & Neck surgeons in the Valley.

Chetan Gujrathi, M.D.

Dr. Gujrathi is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons and is a member of the North American Skull Base Society.

Dr. Gujrathi, a graduate of McGill University, received his medical degree and completed his ENT residency at the University of Toronto. Dr. Gujrathi completed a fellowship in Skull Base and Head and Neck Surgery at the University of California, Davis. Dr. Gujrathi began practicing in the Valley in 2005.

Dr. Gujrathi is an active member of the Valley’s medical community including being a member of the Skull Base Team at Barrow’s Neurological Institute and being a member of the CranioFacial Team at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Gujrathi has numerous clinical publications.

Dr. Gujrathi resides in Scottsdale with his wife, Stephanie, and their two children. Dr. Gujrathi’s interests include: competitive ice hockey, mountain biking, and downhill skiing.

Scott Schraff, M.D.

Dr. Schraff is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons, and is a member of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology.

Dr. Schraff, a graduate of Duke University, received his medical degree and completed his ENT Residency at the Eastern Virginia Medical School. Dr. Schraff completed a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital/Medical Center. Dr. Schraff began practicing in the Valley in 2007.

Dr. Schraff is an active member of the medical community serving on various committees at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and is an adjunct professor with the Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Schraff currently serves on the American Academy of Otolaryngology’s Pediatric Committee and has recently served on the Board of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology. He is an active member in the Society for Ear, Nose, and Throat Advancements in Children as well as other local societies.

Dr. Schraff resides in Scottsdale with his wife, Barclay, and their two children. Dr. Schraff enjoys cycling, running, skiing, and golf.

Nathan Page, M.D.

Dr. Page is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. A graduate of Brigham Young University, Dr. Page received his medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He completed his residency training in Otolaryngology-head and Neck Surgery at Washington University and Barnes-Jewish Hospital. Dr. Page completed a fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego. Dr. Page joined AOC in August 2010.

Dr. Page is an active member of the medical community, and is a medical staff member at Banner Desert Medical Center, Cardon Children’s Medical Center, and Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Page resides in Scottsdale with his wife Sarah and two children. His interests include sports, gardening, baking, and the outdoors.

Manikandan Sugumaran, M.D.

Dr Sugumaran is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He completed a six-year combined BS/MD program at Youngstown State University - Northeast Ohio Medical University followed by an NIH funded year at the University of Michigan in head and neck cancer research prior to graduating in 2006.

Dr Sugumaran began his Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery training at SUNY-Stony Brook. He then completed and graduated from New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia/Cornell in 2011. Dr Sugumaran continued his training with a focus in Laryngology and Care of the Professional Voice at The Grabscheid Voice Center-Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. During his time in New York, Dr Sugumaran had the privilege of being mentored by multiple internationally renowned Laryngologists.

Dr Sugumaran has clinical interests in the management of early laryngeal cancer with CO2 laser, benign vocal disease, management of the professional voice, office procedures, and airway stenosis.

Dr Sugumaran and his wife Hema are the proud parents of two children. He enjoys listening to music, playing guitar and singing, football, basketball, and movies.

Isabel Feinstein, M.D.

Dr. Feinstein is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. She is a graduate of the Medical College of Pennsylvania, and completed her residency training at the University of Minnesota in 1987. Additionally she obtained a Masters of Science degree in Otology while at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Feinstein began her medical career over 20 years ago, primarily practicing in Minnesota, and joined AOC in 2007 practicing non-surgical ENT.

Dr. Feinstein has numerous clinical publications and multiple commendations regarding patient care. Dr. Feinstein resides in Scottsdale with her husband, Dr. Lawrence Boies Jr., a retired academic otolaryngologist. Dr. Feinstein's interests include: travel, her dogs, cycling and Italian language and art.

David Crockett, M.D.

Dr. David Crockett

Dr. Crockett is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. After graduating from Brigham Young University, he received his medical degree from Texas A&M University. He completed his residency training in Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Utah. Dr. Crockett continued his training in Nashville, TN at Vanderbilt University and the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, completing a pediatric fellowship.

Dr. Crockett is an active member of the medical community and is a medical staff member at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. He has written and published multiple articles and book chapters discussing various topics in pediatric otolaryngology and head/neck surgery. His clinical interests include the management of cleft lip/palate, velopharyngeal insufficiency, pediatric sinusitis, nasal obstruction, ear anomalies, and disorders of the airway in children.

Dr. Crockett was born and raised in southern Arizona. He and his wife Ashley are proud parents of an adorable daughter. He enjoys fly fishing, outdoor activities, golf, tennis, and playing with his family.

Chafeek Tomeh, M.D.

Dr. Chafeek Tomeh

Dr. Tomeh is Board Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. A graduate with a BS in chemistry from Arizona State University, Dr. Tomeh received his medical degree from Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his residency training in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Tennessee. Afterwards, he completed a 2-year Head and Neck Surgical Oncology clinical instructorship at Stanford University, where he was mentored by internationally recognized Head and Neck surgeons which included training in Transoral Robotic and skull base surgery.

Dr. Tomeh’s clinical interests include head and neck cancers, including skull base tumors, as well as benign diseases of the head and neck. He also has interest in public health including oral cavity health, cancer screening, and Human Papilloma Virus associated head and neck tumors. He has published on robotic surgery in Otolaryngology as well as treatment of advanced laryngeal cancers.

Dr. Tomeh and his wife Sara are the proud parents of 2 children. His interests include mountain biking, hiking, camping, photography, and basketball.


Neurotology

Peter Weisskopf, M.D.

Dr Weisskopf graduated from the University of Southern California School of Medicine. After graduation, he completed a surgical residency at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. He then trained as a U.S. Naval Flight Surgeon, and served a tour at Joint Reserve Air Station Willow Grove, PA. After completing his Flight Surgeon tour, he returned to San Diego as a Resident in Otolaryngology. During his residency he was involved in numerous research projects, earning a number of awards for his work.

After completing his residency, he was stationed at the U.S. Naval Hospital Yokosuka, Japan where he served for two years. At Yokosuka, Dr. Weisskopf served as the Department Head for Otolaryngology. After completing his tour in Japan, he left the Navy and returned to Los Angeles for a Fellowship in Neurotology at the House Ear Clinic focusing primarily on the treatment of acoustic neuromas and other skull base and ear diseases. Additional training in Gamma Knife Radiosurgery was obtained at the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, home of the original Gamma Knife unit.

Dr Weisskopf is active in national otolaryngology organizations as well. He was recently elected Fellow of the Triological Society, and serves as Chairman of the Certificate Program for Otolaryngology Committee of the American Association of Otolaryngology/ Head and Neck Surgery.

Currently his practice focuses on diseases of the ear, skull base and facial nerve. Dr Weisskopf is the Head of the Neurotology Section at the Barrow Neurological Institute, as well as the Co-Director of the Barrow Acoustic Neuroma Center.

Dr. Weisskopf is Board Certified in Otolaryngology and Neurotology.
